Michael Prettenhofer started building furniture out of necessity. When he was looking to buy good quality furniture for his home, he quickly found that he could not afford the prices. He decided to make his own, and the story begins! He is self taught, and built his first piece over fifteen years ago. He also taught himself woodturning and stained glass design and development.

Michael believes very strongly in recycling. He has always used recycled wood and other materials in his products. Environmentally friendly furniture. The idea is simple; take reused or recycled items, and make something new out of them! Michael saw how much waste there was in left over construction site materials and unwanted products just lying around! Using these materials shows how easily we can make a difference in the environment and still have a beautiful, quality product.

Michael was born in Arlington Heights, IL and raised in a North Suburb of Chicago. He joined the United States Airforce at the age of seventeen, two months after graduating from high school. He is proud to have served his country for eight and a half years. He now resides in Indian Springs, NV. with his wife. He has two grown children and two beautiful grandchildren!
